Introduction


4TH OCTOBER 1940 - 19TH JANUARY 2022Rasheed sadly passed away on Wednesday 19th January 2022 after a short illness.In addition to his medical qualifications, Rasheed also obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in; Law, Medicine and Health Care from the University of Liverpool after his retirement.He also invented a dialyser reuse machine, a method of single needle dialysis (both saving the NHS significant cost) and a Holiday Dialysis Machine which allowed many dialysis patients to enjoy a much needed holiday.Rasheed was a member of the UK Renal Association, European Renal Association, Liverpool Medical Institute and the British Medical Association.

About Rasheed


Rasheed was a retired Consultant Nephrologist, with over 40 years of Medical Practice (with 20 years as a Consultant Renal Physician in an NHS teaching Hospital). Additionally, he was an accredited General Medical Practitioner with significant experience of primary care.He regularly attended and presented at Medical Conferences in the UK and abroad. Rasheed had also been invited to lecture in Renal Medicine at Medical Schools in the UK & internationally.

His qualifications


Graduated from the University of Sindh, Pakistan with the degree of MBBS with honours.Awarded German Academic Scholarship (DAAD) in 1969.Awarded the diploma of DTM by Institute of Tropical Medicine, Hamburg, Germany.Member of the Chamber of Physicians; Berlin, Germany.Awarded the degree of MSc (Medicine) by the University of Manchester.Awarded an Honorary Lecturership at the University of Liverpool where I taught and also served as an examiner for Medical students.Awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London (FRCP).Had a large clinical practice dealing with all aspects of renal malady dealing in patients with Acute and Chronic Renal Disease.Published extensively including; research papers, review articles on many subjects related to renal disease.Previously Co-Chair of the North West Regional Audit Committee (UK) for five years.
